Now Trending - Greeninspiration

One of the trends that are (thankfully) reappeared in interior design lately is a great comeback of greenery. With the increasing need to reconnect with the planet on which we live and with desire to save it from ourselves, even the way we thing about creating our living space has not been immune to this idea. Lately, greenery is a "must have" in modern and well designed homes. Breath of freshness in lovely pots, terrariums, hanging baskets, etc.
We all remember our grandma homes where presence of plants was unavoidable. Vines hanging on the walls, violets adorning the windowsill, tall ficus proudly decorating the corners... Retro is back "in", bringing some good, almost forgotten, ideas redesigned to fit into the modern interiors.
Nature is an eternal source of inspiration. It is enough to look into any flower or harmonious combination of vessels on the leaf, and we instantly realize that the beauty of nature has no replacement in what man has created.
This beautiful fern is the latest addition in my living room. Besides being very decorative, ferns produce oxygen and purify the air. Nasa research experts found that one or two pots of ferns in just 24 hours almost completely purify the room air of all toxic substances.
Besides that, her lush waterfall sheet fits both contemporary and traditional decor. It grows well in a pot and hanging baskets. They just  need  lots of water and the high humidity.
This plant is often, in the past, played a major role in many myths and beliefs. The Slovenian culture was believed that fern bloom once a year and that, whoever filled almost impossible mission and found this flower, will be happy and rich all his life. Similarly, great great fathers of today`s Finns believed that whoever finds a fern seed in the flower can undetected travel to treasure hid by fairies.
Today we don`t need myths to understand the importance of nature, and to see that even a little bit of green in our home is so beneficial to us. That little part of nature in a pot gives us constant inspiration to pay more attention to the planet that gives us life.
