Just like the kitchen, the living room is very much the heart of the home, especially during the holiday season. This is the space where family gathers to spend time together and have have fun during the holidays, so it`s important to make it beautiful and festive.
Besides the Christmas tree, fireplace mantel is always the focal point of the living room. After all, it`s space to hang your stockings and where Santa leaves the gifts, right?
When it comes to decorating the fireplace mantel, there is no right or wrong way of doing it, just do what you and your family loves. You can do anything from really simple garland and a few candles to Christmas ornaments, trees, miniature houses, bells, beaded garland, bows, stars, dried oranges...
This year I`m really liking the simple look with asymmetrical fresh garland and just a few touches on the mantel, like candles or bells. So, I wanted to share some of my favorite ideas I found online and maybe inspire you to deck your fireplace mantel this holiday season.
If you don`t have a mantel, you can decorate your TV console or shelf, using the same technique and make your home equally festive this year. Just use your imagination and follow your hart, because your decorations should be unique like you.
Also, don`t stress out about it, remember, it`s for you and your loved ones. Enjoy the process and include your whole family in it. Decorating together is so fun and so much easier then trying to do everything by yourself. Remember, if it`s not perfect, you can always fix it later.
Whether you’re aiming for a bold color scheme or you just want to highlight a few unexpected accents to dress up your holiday mantel, be sure to do it your way and enjoy the process.
