Hello there sweet friends, I am so happy to have you visiting today for this year’s Dreamy Blue and Gold Christmas Home Tour!
Today I`m sharing our main living area. I decided to add the pops of blue this year, but I also decided to give my space a fresh look with a new, dreamy white Christmas tree!
But first, I have a funny story to share with you about the tree. This white Christmas tree is actually made of two 6 foot trees that I put together in order to make one big tree. Can you believe it!! At first I got one tree just to see if I`m going to like all white tree. I never had the white tree before, so I wasn`t sure about it. After a week, I thought it`s nice, but rather small. Then I got this crazy idea to get another tree and make one big tree.
I added a middle section of second tree in the first one, but it looked wrong because of the length of the branches. I was disappointed, but not willing to give up. So I tuck of almost all of the longest branches from the second tree and put them instead of the ones that was on the middle part. When I was finished I was truly amazed. It looked perfect. OMG, I`m genius! I give my self a tap on the back for this idea and started decorating. Oh, I forgot to mention, both trees cost me less then $50! I also had the top part of second tree left over and it was just the perfect, cute small tree. Can you imagine that! Such a joy!
For the decorating part, I used blue, white, and gold ornaments, along with white pinecones, hearts, flowers and gold and white ribbon. You can add ribbon in so many different ways, but I just made a little curls and place it on to the tree wherever I felt it will look good. I didn`t wanted to overcrowd the tree, because it`s so delicate and romantic. I opted for elegant and subtle look, rather then over the top full tree. My family really like it, and I`m glad!
On the other side of the room is a small white tree in a vase. I wanted to balance this side with something, since the main portion of the decorations are on the opposite side of the room. I also added our nativity under the tree and a big star. It`s such a treat to decorate home for this beautiful season. Not just because of the wonderful decorations and cute things, but because of the reason for the celebration!
My favorite thing is to have candles everywhere. There`s something magical in their light, especially in the evening when we cozy up by the fire and all the twinkly lights. That is the best part of the day, if you ask me.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas season filled with love and joy. Merry Christmas from our family to your`s!
