The bed is the center of any bedroom, so it is quite important to pay a special attention to it. For a really French inspired room, opt for a very traditional, curvy shape of headboard. Bed crown will most certainly raise the bar of your bedroom and your whole house, and it`s not that hard to do. You can buy one, or DIY it with a tension rod and a shelf. Choose elegant fabric that will complement your bedding, but not the same fabric, because you don`t want them to be matchy. Best colors in terms of French inspired bedroom will be white, grey, blue, tan, but also toile de jouy or some similar pattern.
2.Chandeliers, table lamps and candle holders
I can`t imagine french bedroom (or any other room, to be exact) without beautiful chandelier. It has to be simple, but refined, white or clear with a lots of beautiful glass crystals which will reflect the light and make a beautiful impression on the walls, or a simple one with a really thin arms. Don`t forget that nothing gives the room an instant french vibe like a beautiful, romantic candle holders and lamps on the night stands. They has to be beautiful, but also blend very well with the rest of decor in the room.
3.Vintage mirrors and vanity table
Every lady has the place to brush her hair, do her makeup and leave jewelry. Antique white vanity table is a must in any french inspired bedroom. Do not forget antique mirrors on the wall. They`re classic, easy to find and look beautiful anywhere in the room, and makes a instant focal point if placed in the right spot.
4.Beautiful bedding
If you want the real french charm, don`t go over the top. Choose soft cotton with ruffles, lots of pillows and make it feel cosy and inviting. To add interest, choose a few smaller pillows with some texture, lace or interesting print, like this paris bedding.
5.Fresh flowers
This step is one of the easiest and cost effective ways to add that french charm to your room. Opt for the little bouquets in a simple vases all over the room. Don`t go with a big, expensive or exotic flowers, just pick up anything in your garden or in the field. Simplicity is the key for that effortless elegance you`ll love.
