Hey friends, today we are going to make some of my favorite crisp and refreshing summer drinks to cool you down during the long, hot days! They are so tasty and easy to make, you`re going to love them!
So, today we are been making 3 different refreshing summer drinks. Is`s awesome way to keep it cool during the hot days, to hydrate and refresh you, but also to give you a little bit of vitamins.
GINGER MINT LEMONADE
You`re going to need:
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juiceWe`re going to start with making a simple syrup, because this is how we are going to sweeten our lemonade. If you don`t want to use sugar, feel free to skip this step and use another liquid sweetener, like agave nectar or maple syrup.
In a small sauce pan combine sugar and water and put it on a medium high heat. Wisk it until all the sugar dissolves. In the meantime, peel the ginger and slice it, and wash a fresh mint. Take off the sauce pan from the heat, add the ginger and mint and let it infuse for 10 minutes. If you like the taste of ginger to be stronger, you can leave it for another 5 minutes, but for me, 10 is just perfect. After 10 minutes remove ginger from the syrup and let it cool to room temperature.Serve it in your favorite glass, (I like to use my mason jar) with lots of ice, slice of lemon and fresh sprig of mint. Yummy! This is so delicious, with a nice hint of ginger and mint and refreshing taste of lemons and oranges. Trust me, you need to try it and you will be addicted!
CHERRY LEMONADE
You`re going to need:
Now, in a large pitcher add your infused simple syrup with cherries, then add lemon, orange and cherry juice and finish with a cold water. Give it a nice stir and add a few slices of fresh lemon and it`s done.
I decided to serve it in a vine glass, but to make it look pretty, I run a slice of lemon over the top and deep it into some sugar. Use lots of ice, add some cherries and enjoy! This one is especially refreshing and delicious because of the cherries! You can thank me later!
3 INGREDIANT PINK LEMONADE SYRUP
You`re going to need:
300 gr. fresh strawberries
500 gr. fresh lemons
800 gr. sugar
2 jars
This one is little bit different from the others, because we are going to be making a syrup. This is a great way to make your summer refreshing drink ahead of time and save the taste of fresh strawberries for longer, or when they are out of the season. It`s also great for summer parties, because you`ll have a less work and more time to enjoy!
Unfortunately, I lost my footage on how to make it, but it`s really simple. First you need to clean your lemons in some water and bicarbonate soda. This will take most of the dirt and chemicals from the skin, because we are going to use them whole. Then put them in a small sauce pan and let them boil for a few minutes, just to make sure they are absolutely clean.
Cut your strawberries in 1/4 and set aside. Cut your lemons length wise and then cut each half into a slices. Don`t forget to take the seeds off from the lemon. Transfer lemons and strawberries into a large bawl and add the sugar. Gently stir everything together and fill the clean and sterilized jars. Close and let sit on the counter for a few days, or until the sugar dissolves and liquid in a jar become clear.
You will need just a 2-3 table spoons of syrup/glass. In your favorite glass add some fruits from the jar, lots of ice and garnish with fresh strawberry. Your kids will get nuts about this one! I strongly recommend you to make a double batch of this delicious syrup, because it`s going to disappear in a blink of an eye!
P.S. You can turn all three of these into a more grown up drinks by adding some vodka. 💃
I really hope you`ll try these this summer and love them as much as I do. Let me know in the comments what`s your favorite summer drink and share the recipe, so we can all enjoy it!
