Simple & Elegant Fall Family Room Tour

It’s time to pull out the cozy blankets and round up the pumpkins, Fall is nearly here!
Fall Home Tour 2021
This year I’m embracing the natural colors of Autumn in our home decor. Muted rust, warm beige, and taupe are sprinkled throughout our living room, making it clear that the seasons are transitioning. This first peek at my living room showcases simple but warm fall decor and makes the space so much more cozy. As I mentioned in my previous post, fall is for me all about being cozy. If you missed my 5 Tips to Get Your Home Fall Ready, be sure to check it out before you start decorating for fall.

Candles are a must for fall. They create a beautiful warmth and glow in a room, plus they are fairly inexpensive.

Pillows are such an easy and affordable way to incorporate seasonal colors. I got these rust pillow covers and this muted rust textured pillow to coordinate with my existing pillows and love how they pulled out the fall tones.
I love to add an abundance of soft and fluffy pillows on the sofa. My hubby and son always move them around, but I don`t care.  I can have as many as I want, right?

As the weather starts to cool down, throw blankets become an everyday essential. I didn`t found one that I really like this season, so I`m using my white ones, but these are really cozy, so they will do for now.

Of course I added a few pumpkins, but I was really intentional with them, because I wanted space to look elegant and simple. Too many pumpkins can sometimes look tacky, don`t you agree?
Are you in the fall mood yet? If not, I hope this will inspire you to start decorating your home for the season and make it the coziest place on earth.

Let it Fall / Fall Home Tour

A cozy simple home decorated for fall with touches of golden yellow, wood tones, antique finds, enhanced with texture though pillows, blankets and baskets.
Let it Fall / Fall Home Tour
I`m so excited to welcome you to this year`s Fall Home Tour! Once again it`s time for crisp weather, cozy sweater and fall decor. Since I`m just arrived from trip to Greece, I`ve been working like crazy to pull things together at home.
I hope this will give you some inspiration for your home.
Every year I have a different inspiration for my seasonal decor. This time I was inspired with nature and it`s beauty. I incorporated beautiful fall colors with my neutral color palette, adding just a touch of gold and copper.

FALL LIVING ROOM

When adding touches of fall I always say start at the coziest space in our home—the fireplace mantel. I wanted it to look simple, so I added candles, fall DIY art print, white pumpkins, branches with flowers and call it a day.

For the rest of our living room, when I start adding autumn decor, my mind started thinking about texture. A nice cozy knit blanket, soft pillows, a few branches with turning leaves and a natural textiles like linen, wool or jute.

I didn`t want to add too much fall decor, just a pumpkin or two, so room can still look nice and airy, but cozy and worm.

FALL KITCHEN

As I mentioned before, color scheme for my home is the warm tones of fall - the beautiful colors that nature produces during the season. I love adding golden yellow, copper and little bit of amber tones with a little pops of green or even navy. On the cabinet a added a gold tray with white and creamy pumpkins and a gold sconces. Above the cabinet is a wooden shelf I used to display my vintage horse figurine and beautiful lamb ears in a pitcher.

The rest of the kitchen is very simple, with a minimal decor since I cook there every day and really don`t want fall decor to be on the way.
Wooden horse you see on the shelf appears again in the kitchen, because I just loved the pop of amber color and the shape of it. I find them in an antique store few years ago, but I never really use them before. It`s funny how some things need time to make their way in our home...

I particularly love copper accents in the fall. They bring so much warmth in the space. This teapot I found in a local store and I just had to bring it home.

FALL DINING ROOM

Since we use this space every day, I didin`t want to crowd the table with a lots of decorations.
Silver vase filled with branches with turning leaves in yellow and copper tones was just enough to make the space feel like autumn is here.

On the other hand, I used our bar cart to decorate with more seasonal items, like this cute flower arrangement in a ceramic pumpkin, or beautiful lamb ears in a pot and a natural pumpkin. Gold and copper appears in other details to tie in the whole space.

DIY Toilet Paper Pumpkins

Did you think I`m done with my DIY #fall projects and pumpkins?Well...nope!!
Here’s another easy way to make pumpkins and decorate your home for the fall. Best thing about this project: it`s made of toilet paper rolls!
In my previous post I showed you how to make pumpkins out of fabric (you can check it here), but this one is even more easy and fun! Let`s get on with the tutorial.
Materials:
empty toilet paper rolls
hot glue
scissors/precision knife/ruler
floral wire
something for the stem (I used wooden sticks)
self adhesive pearls or other embellishment
Tutorial:
Measure and cut your paper rolls with a precision knife. I measured 2 cm wide rings and made a 4 out of one roll. For one pumpkin I used 2 rolls - 8 rings in total.

Thread a piece of ribbon or twine inside of rings and try to arrange a shape of pumpkin as best as you can. Then tie a knot to secure it.

If needed arrange your rings again and paint your pumpkin (I spray painted mine white).
For the swirl wrap floral wire on pen, remove and shape as you like.
After the paint is totally dry, add pearls or other embellishment. With a hot glue attach the stem and the swirl to a pumpkin and you`re finished!
