Fall home decorating ideas and fall home tour to inspire you for the autumn season.
Welcome to the fall home tour where you can find lots of ideas on how to decorate your home this season! If this is your first time here, welcome! I'm so glad you're here!
Fall is my favorite season to decorate for the warm and fuzzy feels that it brings! I’ve shared many autumn posts over the years and you’ll find several pages of them here and here .
Today I’m sharing some fall decorating ideas in our home you can use to decorate your space easily. I hope that you take some inspiration in simplicity and scroll down to see what I`m sharing this autumn.
First thing I always change in the living room are the pillows on the sofa. This is the easiest and most effective (and cost effective) way to add seasonal colors and textures to your space.
I decided to add a little bit of rust/terracotta color just to change the feel and make space little warmer.
Second step for me is to make seasonal floral arrangement. Since it`s early fall, there is a plenty of flowers still available. For my coffee table/bench I decided to mix it all up with a flowers in different shades of mauve, dried hydrangeas, small pumpkins and berries and place it in a vintage goblet. Great tip for flower arrangements is to mix natural with fake flowers, this way you can hardly tell which one are not real. Like I said, just a few details is enough to make different feeling in the space.
After a long, exhausting day, we love to have a glass of vine and unwind. It`s so important to have a few moments for yourself and share your day with a family.
I didn`t do much on our mantel this year, because our TV is there, so there`s not much space to work with. I only added two vintage gold candlestick on each side of TV.
Third tip is to use decor that represents the season. You know I love pumpkins, so it shouldn't be any surprise that I love to use them for my decor. For our living room, I mixed faux with real pumpkins around our fireplace, added lanterns and some flowers and orange berries to tie with the arrangement on the coffee table.
I was lucky enough to find this beautiful pale orange pumpkin on the farmers market the other day. She is also very tasty so we are going to use it for some yummy recipes soon.
I also decorated my bar card with candlesticks, baby pumpkins and dry grass in a vase. Did you guessed this grass is from my garden?! Yep, another tip for you is to look for the decor in your garden or city park near you. It`s beautiful and free.
I love how the other side of the room reflects in a mirror on a bar card. Mirrors are great to decorate with any season, but in a fall or winter they also provide a little bit more light, since there is not as much sun as in the spring and summer. My reading chair is always by the fireplace. This is my favorite spot in the room where I can stay tucked in my blanket with a cup of coffee and read.
My neutral kitchen is so nice and bright and brings me so much pleasure to work in. On the shelve I decided to add a few branches with berries in orange fall shades. I put them in jars and candle holders along with our favorite mugs.
My home and blog are about achieving a beautiful home within budget, so I always try to achieve lovely look with a small changes and details, and this is very easy and affordable way to do that. I want to show you that you don`t need to spend a lot of money on decorations every season. Elegant look is not in a bunch of nick nacks all over the place. You just need a few key pieces that will represent the new season in your home.
On the cabinet I placed cake stand with a beautiful pears and figs from our garden and lovely amber plate with a vintage amber glass decanter. Balancing soft with rustic cuts down on the frilly factor and makes my husband and my son happy.
My point is that fall home decorating ideas can include pretty much anything that "speaks" fall to you, even seasonal fruits or family treasures.
Usually I don`t decorate my kitchen a lot, because I need my work space daily. So, I added just a few branches with orange berries in a vase and a white pumpkin dish on a cake stand in the corner by the window.
With our kitchen open to the dining area, it’s important to create a flow. There is a lot of white, so it needed some pop of color.
A pottery vase with dried hydrangeas, colorful flowers, branches with berries and white and gold candlestick added color and life , since everything else is white and neutral.
On the dining table is a vintage silver casserole dish that I used to make this cute arrangement with pumpkins, some flowers and berries.
These pumpkins I made last fall, you can find the full tutorial HERE if you want to make cute and inexpensive pumpkins. This year I added them a few beads and silver trim for a little glitz.
Thanks for coming by for a peek at what’s going on around my house! Fall is just around the corner, so I hope you’ll be inspired by this tips and my home tour! Much love!
Absolutely love this space. Gives me vintage vibes and I'm here for it!
