Shabby French Door Signs for Cocotte Bistro

Summer in the city does not have to be that bad. Yes, we dream of long, sandy beaches, turquoise sea and cold cocktails, but if you live here or just visiting Belgrade, make sure to stop by and check our new and lovely french bistro Cocotte in Francuska 11(French Street No.11) and refresh with a really nice cocktails. You will find there this cute door-signs I made for them. This charming door-signs will be a lovely and unique detail in their wonderful space. I really enjoyed working with them!
Technique: painting, calligraphy, transfer and patina.

Tehnike: bojenje, krasnopis, transfer i patinira.

DIY Shabby Chic Desk Organization

Sometimes we all think that we don’t have time to organize our desk or work area, but if we really think how much time that disorganization can cost us, we’d reconsider. We all know the situation when we have so many things on our desk, but never the thing we are looking for. Pens, sharpies, scissors, brushes are laying all over the place and make a big mess.

Rearranging and moving piles of things occasionally doesn’t count. Neither does clearing off desk, and swipe the mess into a bin, or a desk drawer. A relatively neat and orderly work space clears the way for higher productivity and less wasted time.

Organizing your office doesn’t have to take days or money. The thing we need is desk organizer. But, sometimes we don`t want to spend extra money on them, or they just don`t fit our style.

If you have some left over jars, you can ease make one. It`s going to be your style and unique.

I chose to make this shabby romantic desk organizers. They are so cute that will enliven any desk or office. These three are perfect for organizing pens and brushes on the desk, or to hold flatware and utensils in the kitchen or to keep your makeup brushes in one place. Or just put a beautiful flower in them and enjoy! Do you like it?

DIY Shabby Chic Cookie Box

This plain wooden box was perfect for shabby chic storage. So I decided to give it a makeover and turn it into a shabby chic box for cookies and sweets. Because, who doesn`t love a delicious cookie served with afternoon tea or coffee.

You will need:

- black, white, gold and silver acrylic paint
- candle
- laser printed image of your choice
- decoupage glue or modge podge
- send paper
- little bit of water and brush or sponge

 Tutorial:
First step is to paint the box with black acrylic paint (to achieve the shabby effect later on).
After the black paint is completely dry, rub the edges of the box (or everywhere you like) with candle to make sanding later easier. This step will give cute shabby look to the box.
Next, paint the box with white acrylic paint in two coats and sand with a sand paper on the spots where candle was applied.
Paint the interior of the box with the gold and silver (or any color you like).
Now is the time to transfer the image on the box. First, apply glue to the image on the printed side (make sure to use a laser print for this technique).
Glue the image to the box (printed side on the box) and let it dry completely.
Soak image with water (use sponge or brush) and start rubbing gently with your fingers. Rub off the layer upon layer of paper, so at the end you`ll end up with the image only.
You can see here how I take off the first layer of paper.
You can also decorate the interior of the box, if you like. I decorated mine with two angels.
Finally, finish your decorated box with a layer of clear acrylic lacquer. I also additionally decorated mine with lace ribbon and pearls.
Finally put your favorite cookies and sweets into the box and enjoy your coffee!
