A Touch of Spring in the Kitchen

Hi friends, and welcome back for another tour. If you missed my Spring Home Tour - Living room, you can check it HERE. This time I’m sharing our kitchen and although I didn’t go overboard with Spring decorating, by just bringing a touch of Spring with a fresh flowers and a few new details, it already feels fresher.

Zdravo svima i dobro došli u još jedan kutak našeg doma. Ako ste propustili prolećnu šetnju dnevnim boravkom, možete je pogledati OVDE. Ovog puta ću vam pokazati kako izgleda naša kuhinja u proleće. Kada je kuhinja u pitanju, trudim se da ne preterujem sa dekorom. Dovoljno je sveže cveće i par detalja pa da prostor deluje osveženo i lepo. 

As I said, I really don’t decorate my kitchen that much, because the kitchen at Home Chic Club is the workhorse of my home! I cook, bake and even craft there daily, so I try to keep things simple with just a touch of Spring. 

Five years ago the kitchen went through a renovation. Did you know that this renovation was a starting point for the Home Chic Club blog? Yes, when we started this renovation, I wanted to capture the moment and then it come to my mind... Why not share it on the blog? And so it all started, and ends in the kitchen. There we constantly bump to each other, our friends love to chat while I`m cooking and I love to drink my morning coffee. I think, every kitchen has some kind of magic, don`t you agree?

When we started renovation, I knew I want a white kitchen. And I’m really loving our white kitchen, but when Spring comes, I really enjoy a little color. Adding color with fresh flowers, like this gentle lily or gorgeous tulips, is my way of doing it. Beautiful scent also comes in handy, right?

Kao što sam rekla, ne dekorišem kuhinju previše, jer je to moj radni prostor i centar našeg doma. Ovde se kuva, mesi, peče, čak rade i DIY projekti, pa zato volim da sve bude jednostavno, sa tek ponekim dodirom proleća.

Pre pet godina ova kuhinja je prošla kroz veliko renoviranje. A da li ste znali da je upravo to i pokrenulo blog Home Chic Club? Da, kada su krenuli radovi, želela sam da sačuvam te momente i onda mi je palo na pamet da to uradim kroz blog. I tako je sve krenulo, a i završava se u kuhinji. Tu se neprestano sudaramo i guramo, tu naši gosti sa čašom pića vole da ćaskaju dok ja kuvam i tu volim da popijem svoju prvu jutarnju kafu. Mislim da kuhinje poseduju neku vrstu magije, zar ne?

Kada smo odlučili da renoviramo, odmah sam znala da želim belu kuhinju. I dalje uživam u tome, ali kada krene proleće, volim da dodam malo boje u tu belinu. A ima li lepšeg načina da se unese dodir boje u prostor od svežeg cveća poput nežnih zumbula i raskošnih lala? A i predivan miris dobro dođe u kuhinji, zar ne?

These gorgeous yellow tulips are arranged in a small pitcher, next to a cake stand full of fresh lemons. They give me such a pleasure while I`m sitting in a dinning room and looking towards the kitchen. 

Ove predivne žute lale sam aranžirala u jednostavan mali bokal i smestila pored stalka za kolače punog svežeg limuna. Pravi odmor za oči dok sedim za trpezarijskim stolom i gledam kuhinju.

Fresh fruits, potted herbs or even veggies are not just food, they are also a really inexpensive way to refresh and decorate and they will look great anywhere in the kitchen. 
I’ve also been craving lighter, healthier food lately, but I can`t resist to a piece of dark chocolate once in a while. It`s healthy and delicious, so I thought it`s ok to have some. Don`t you agree? I do. Ha, ha...

Sveže voće, posađeno začinsko bilje pa čak i povrće nisu samo odlična hrana, već i savršen i jednostavan način da osvežite i dekorišete i izgledaće fantastično gde god da ih smestite u kuhinji.
Proleće volim i zbog šarenila na pijacama i mnoštva svežeg voće i povrća. Stvarno se trudim da jedem laganu i zdravu hranu, ali ne mogu da ne odlomim i po koju kockicu čokolade tu i tamo... Kažu da je crna čokolada ne samo ukusna, već i dobra za zdravlje, pa mislim da sam u pravu ako verujem da je sasvim ok da se malo gricne, zar ne? Pa, naravno da sam u pravu. Ha, ha...

I also find this lovely lilac yesterday...they are not in a full bloom yet, so I`ll have to wait a day or two to enjoy in their full beauty.  But they are lovely anyway. 

Juče sam našla i divni, prvi jorgovan... nije još potpuno procvetao, pa ću morati da sačekam dan-dva da uživam u njegovoj punoj lepoti. Mada mislim da je božanstven i ovako.

The other day, I went for a walk and I find these adorable vinegar and oil dispenser in a soft pink tone and I had to brought them home. But, I left behind spaghetti jar and that was bothering me. So, yesterday I went back to pick it up. Much nicer when they are together, right?  😉

Pre par dana sam bila u šetnji i našla ove preslatke dozatore za sirće i ulje u puder roze nijansi i morala sam da ih donesem sa sobom. Ali, nisam uzela teglu za špagete i to me je "strašno" mučilo. Zato sam se juče vratila po nju. Mnogo im je lepše kada su  zajedno, zar ne? 😉

Besides this cute pastels, I really love all white dishes. They will help keep my kitchen feeling airy and won’t take away from this gorgeous spring flowers. 

Osim ovih pastelnih detalja, u principu najviše volim belo posuđe. Uz njega kuhinja uvek deluje prozračno i lako, a njihova belina samo još više ističe sve nijanse prolećnog cveća.

So there you go friends. A little touch of sun and Spring in our kitchen.

Easter Ideas - Easy Easter Egg Cards DIY

Decorating for Easter is always so fun and creative, because nothing is more meaningful than something made at home. This time it`s a cute and easy DIY Easter Egg Card you can quickly do with your kids and have some fun. 

Today I will show you how to make lovely and awesome DIY Easter Egg card for your family and friends. This lovely Easter Egg card will spread good vibes and impress your family and friends in a unique way. 

You will need:

- scrapbook paper (white, patterned and solid color),

- scissors,

- ruler,

- glue,

- ribbon

Tutorial:

First cut the two oval pieces, one of white paper or cardboard (this one going to be a base for the card) and one of patterned paper.

Cut patterned piece ones again, this time horizontally (make sure that you have enough space to place the chicken later). This is going to be a top part of the card. 

Use a solid color scrapbook paper to cut a long strip for the decorative opening. Cut it in half horizontally with a pattern scissors.

Glue bottom (bigger) part of oval patterned paper on white paper, but don`t glue it all the way to the top (you need a little gap to insert the chicken later). On top of the that glue long strip of paper - bottom part. 

Position top patterned part on top part of white paper (don`t glue that part) just to find perfect spot for top part of long strip. Make sure that top and bottom of long strip matches each other perfectly. Glue long stripe on top part and trim the excess. Aline two top parts and punch a hole on the left corner, then add a ribbon and make a bow. Now your top patterned part can move up and down and close the card. You are almost done. :)

Now it time to make a chicken. Use yellow scrapbook paper to cut the chicken body and wing. Glue the wing to the body, color the eye with a black sharpie and nib with the orange, and then glue chicken on the middle of white part of the card. Be sure to push it inside of a bottom piece (just a little) - (that`s why you didn`t glue bottom part all the way to the top). 

For the decorative part, make a small flower and glue it next to the ribbon. I used small pearl to make it even more festive. Print Easter note and make a small banner. 

Glue banner on the right side of your card, left a lovely note on the back and you are done! How cute is that!!

Easy Planner Setup Ideas 2016

Maybe it`s a bit late to talk about planning and planners, but I recently become planner addict, so there are some tips and DIY projects I learned in past several weeks. I wanted to share it with you, so you can spruce up your planners without breaking the bank! 

We all know how busy our days and weeks can be, so it can be very overwhelming and stressful. But, if you plan your week and schedule each day, you can achieve much more. At list I can.

This year I use several planners and one of them is a personal planner. I wished to share it with you because I really love my planner setup and I have so many DIY projects in this one.

1. First, my dashboard. I used plasic folder to  make it. I cut it out, whole punch it and add some sticky notes so I can easily write down any ideas or tasks.

2. My cover and dividers is another DIY. I wanted floral ones but I couldn`t find proper floral scrapbook paper. So I made my scrapbook paper. It`s easy and inexpensive project. All you need is a piece of cardboard, paper napkins, kitchen plastic wrap (transparent) and baking (parchment) paper. Place layer of baking paper on your ironing board, then on top add cardboard, piece of plastic wrap,  napkin (only the top layer with a print ), another layer of plastic wrap and finish with larger piece of baking paper. Use a very hot iron and press firmly on top so everything stick together in one layer. Remove baking paper and you`re done! Easy and inexpensive. Use the some procedure to make your dividers. Note the dividers have a different shape then your cover, so just trace the original dividers to make it perfect. I added a business card holder too for stickers and made another paper holder for more space.

3. Another thing I made myself are cute paper clips. There is so many ideas on internet. 
a) First one is with ribbon. You can use one ribbon or as many as you like. First fold your ribbons in half, then go through the paper clip, separate the strips in two so that you get an opening and pull the ends thought the opening. Pull the stripes and tighten them firmly. Finish with a little dot of glue on the back to keep everything nice and secure. 

b) Other way to make them is to use charm from a hair clip (or other charms you have, button etc.) and hot glue it on the paper clip. Simple and cheap. 
c) Third way to alternate simple paper clip is to give it a heart shape. You can find a tutorial on Youtube. It`s a bit hard to explain in words, but when you see the tutorial it`s really simple. 
d) You can made them using some cardboard and sticky glittered paper, like I do. I added first letters of my name on front and back to personalize it more. 
Last, I made a charm for my other planner using ribbons and key holder (using same technique I used for paper clips.)

Možda je pomalo kasno da pričamo o planerima i palniranju, ali kako sam od nedavno postala zavisnik, želela sam da sa vama podelim nekoliko uradi sam ideja kako da uredite i personalizujete svoj planer a da ne potrošite gomilu novca.

Svi znamo koliko stresno može da bude usklađivanje svih nedeljnih i dnevnih obaveza, ali ako unapred isplanirate nedelju i dane, to može da bude od velike pomoći da se postigne mnogo više. Bar u mom slučaju je tako.

Ove godine koristim nekoliko planera, a danas sam želela da sa vama podelim moj manji tzv. personalni planer. Izabrala sam ga jer mi se jako sviđa kako izgleda, a i jer sam za njega koristila dosta uradi sam projekta.

1. Prvo dashboard Napravila sam ga od obične plastične facikle. Isekla sam je u veličini naslovnice, probušila rupe i na nju nalepila samolepljive stikere za zabeleške, tako da uvek imam gde da na brzinu zapišem ideju ili zadatak koji treba da obavim.

2. Naslovnica i razdelnici su još jedan uradi sam projekat. Želela sam floralni dezen, ali nisam mogla da pronađem odgovarajući skrapbook papir koji mi se dopadao. Zato sam odlučila da ga napravim sama. Sve što vam je potrebno za ovaj projekat je papir za pečenje, providna samoljepljiva folija (kuhinjska), salveta (samo gornji sloj) i karton ili hamer. Na dasku za peglanje složite prvo papir za pečenje, potom hamer, foliju, salvetu i opet foliju, prekrijte većim komadom papira za pečenje i prepeglajte vrelom peglom. Dobro pritisnite sve krajeve i pređite nekoliko puta, odstranite papir za pečenje i gotovo! Lako i jeftino. Na isti način sam napravila skrapbook papir i za sve razdelnike, s tim što se oni razlikuju po obliku od naslovne strane, pa treba koristiti originalne kao uzorak.

3. Treća stvar su ukrasne i zanimljive spajalice. Ima zaista mnogo zanimljivih ideja na internetu, a ja ću  vam pokazati nekoliko koje sam koristila. 
a) Prva ideja je da se naprave uz pomoć ukrasnih tračica. Možete koristiti jednu ili koliko god želite a postupak je sledeći. Isečene trake presaviti na pola i provući kroz vrh spajalice, napraviti otvor i kroz njega provući sve krajeve. Dobro zategnuti i na poleđinu staviti malo lepka kako bi sve stajalo čvrsto. 
b) Drugi način je da iskoristite figurice i mašnice sa šnala (ili neke druge ukrasne sitnice, dugmiće itd.) i zalepite ih pištoljem za vruće lepljenje na spajalicu. Jednostavno i jeftino! 
c) Treći način je da spajalicama date oblik srca. Tutorijal za ovo možete naći na Youtube. Teško je objasniti rečima, ali kada pogledate videćete da je vrlo jednostavno. 
4) Zlatna spajalica je nastala od kartona koji sam prelepila gliter papirom i dodala počerna slova svog imena, da je dodatno personalizujem. 
Za moj drugi planer sam napravila ovaj visuljak na privesku za ključeve sa ukrasnim trakama, a postupak je isti kao kod spajalica. Nadam se da vam se moj planer dopao i da sam vam dala nekoliko korisnih ideja za ukrašavanje vašeg planera. Srećno planiranje!
